Hyundai Motorsport and CUPRA Racing continued their pre-season testing this week at Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi.
Each manufacturer, who will contest the inaugural PURE ETCR season this year, focused on set-up work to optimise both handling and performance.
Jordi Gené, who gave the CUPRA e-Racer its first test in full ETCR specification at MotorLand Aragón last week, was joined behind the wheel by Mikel Azcona, recently announced as the Spanish brand’s third PURE ETCR driver.
Hyundai Motorsport ETCR Test and Development drivers Augusto Farfus and Jean-Karl Vernay were both behind the wheel of the Veloster N ETCR during the two-day test on Monday and Tuesday.
Both the International and Club layouts of the Vallelunga circuits were used while the final afternoon included a session on the shorter circuit – which will be used by PURE ETCR for its inaugural event on June 18-20 – in artificially wet conditions for set-up purposes.
