The all-action spectacle of PURE ETCR, the world’s first all-electric, multi-brand touring car series, will be shown in 159 countries in 2021 following confirmation of the initial roster of broadcast partners for the new season.
They will provide a mix of live coverage, race highlights and news round-up programming throughout the inaugural 2021 season, which begins at Autodromo Vallelunga in Italy this weekend (June 18-20).
The broadcast partnerships secured to date provide an incredible global base for PURE ETCR, which pitches some of the world’s best racing drivers against each other in the most powerful touring cars ever created; their 500kW electric motors producing the equivalent of 670bhp!
PURE ETCR’s mission to show that electric cars can be fun, fast and cool will be beamed into living rooms and mobile devices across the world, along with guaranteed action across the four-round Battle format.
The series will also feature several pioneering innovations, aimed at elevating the quality of the coverage to among the best ever devised in motorsport
A 60-strong team on-site will be responsible for 50 cameras – 24 of which will provide live on-board footage from the cars, while an agio-robotic dolly system has been implemented for gyrostabilised travelling.
Additionally, a mesh system around the circuit will allow for pictures, audio and data to be followed in real time.
The first of five events will be held in Italy this weekend, with a further four meetings in Spain, Denmark, Hungary and South Korea to be held between now and November.
PURE ETCR will complement its linear coverage with an additional audience on major OTT platforms including Eurosport Player, MotorTrend on demand in North America, Tencent in China and Motorsport.tv.
As well as live coverage on Eurosport, which is available in more than 70 countries in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, nearly 30 new agreements have been established for the first season of PURE ETCR.
