Round 3/5
PURE ETCR’s inaugural season visits five circuits, blending traditional permanent venues with urban street tracks. This pushes the abilities of the drivers and the 500kW electric touring cars to the max as teams face the challenge of making their machine the one to beat across a wide range of venues. The first four events are held in Europe, with the finale – which should decide the first Drivers’ and Teams’ Champions – in Asia.

COPENHAGEN
Denmark’s capital city of Copenhagen will make history this year when it becomes the first location to host PURE ETCR on a temporary street circuit on August 6-8. The Bellahøj Park venue, located 5km outside the central business district, has hosted the city’s Historic Grand Prix since 2013, after the event’s original temporary track, Fælledparken – which circled the national government building once a year – was deemed unsuitable. Among the notable drivers who have tackled the track during various runnings of the CHGP are Le Mans legend Tom Kristensen, three-time FIA World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx, Formula 1 racers Jan Magnussen and Prince Joachim of Denmark.

Gates
Dominating PURE ETCR venues in 2021 will be the Starting Gate. Instead of traditional starting lights, this new innovation makes driver reactions off the line more important than ever before. Nine metres tall and upto 24m wide (the structure is adjustable to suit the circuit width), the Starting Gate allows upto three cars to line-up side by side for the start of each Battle. A random automatic countdown begins as soon as the start button is pressed. As the gates swing open, the beasts are unleashed.
