Cupra e-Racer
Jordi Gené forms one quarter of a vastly-experienced line-up at CUPRA X Zengo Motorsport alongside established touring car champions Mattias Ekström and Mikel Azcona plus young charger Dániel Nagy. Gené has established a reputation as one of the world’s best touring car development drivers, and so was an obvious choice by CUPRA to develop not only the ETCR concept car, but also the e-Racer that lapped in its final specification in March 2021 and will compete for the first time in PURE ETCR this year.

The most experienced member of the Zengo Motorsport X CUPRA line-up, Jordi Gené’s single-seater prowess took him all the way to race wins in F3000 and a Benetton F1 test driver, but it was in touring cars where he achieved his greatest successes. The Spanish Touring Car Champion with Audi in 1996, Gene has forged an ultra-strong relationship with SEAT and its CUPRA sub-brand, winning the Nurburgring 24 Hours TCR division in 2016, securing multiple victories in WTCC and TCR International. He even took time out to win his class at Le Mans in 2001 and the Spanish GT title two years later.
