Baptista leads Romeo Ferraris-M1RA clean sweep in Hungaroring practice

Romeo Ferraris-M1RA dominated practice for PURE ETCR Race HU as Rodrigo Baptista led a clean sweep of the top four positions at the Hungaroring on Friday afternoon.

Ahead of what is the home race for the M1RA part of the Italian-based operation, Baptista set the pace in the opening session with a 1m55.605s lap in his Giulia ETCR by Romeo Ferraris to beat team-mate Luca Filippi by over a second.

PURE ETCR newcomer Luigi Ferrara topped the second session, but with a time over 0.7s slower than Baptista’s. This was still enough for second overall ahead of Filippi and King of Copenhagen Philipp Eng in fourth.

Local hero Dániel Nagy was the fastest CUPRA X Zengo Motorsport driver in fifth overall with team-mates Mikel Azcona, Mattias Ekstrom – the series leader – and Jordi Gene sixth, seventh and 10th.

Jean-Karl Vernay was Hyundai Motorsport N’s best performer in eighth while team-mate Augusto Farfus stopped on-track in the dying moments of FP2 at the pit entry.

The Draw, which will determine the Pools and Battles for the remainder of the weekend, takes place at 20h30 CET tonight and will be broadcast live on PURE ETCR YouTube and Facebook.
